lights

So had an idea for lights round the track, found thease little battery operated led lights and made some sort of fllood light stand for them not too bad i  reckon.

 also made some lights for an advert gantry to go the length of the hair pin end.

    then painted with a few adverts

                                                                               
                       and this is what it looks like in dark for night racing,

   Pretty cool i reckon, getting pretty close to the finish of this project now as in terms of the scalextric only small amounts of scenery work to do, however there is more work in loft i would like to do will eventualy replace paper on roof joist with plasterboard and paint and would also like to fit window in loft on left side,
but i think now at the right place to invite mates over for a race night  so will let you know how that goes.......                                                            
                                                                                               

hair pin progress

First of all the race mannagment  program works absolutly fantastic i heard so many horror stories about this bit of kit, but all cars go through an trip the trigger no problem makes it all much more fun so realy pleased with it,
ok so the hairpin end of track, i will let pics describe what i have done and how far along i am,

 pretty simple the base coat and while still wet mix in the black and then when dry the white highlite
next was bit of grass then putting pit area and picnic area back together.

       Also finished off the grass and stones by breakdown truck.

   next bit to do is some more stones by picnic area then second loop as you come out of tunnel,
so stay tuned.......                                                                                                                            

Hair pin

Ok so now making a start on the hair pin end of track, was never really happy with this bit,

 I still want the same buildings up this end so have marked out where i want them then some wire mesh to make rocks and grass bank area.

     Will gradualy build this up with more detail and then paint,
My wife got me this fantastic cable car from a charity shop its perfect scale and my little figures fitted a treat

     Not too sure where to put it yet hope i can fit it somewhere that i can use the winch so it will go up an down other wise will just suspend it above track, but looks really cool.
 one more thing to add on this entry i won a scalextric race management programme on e bay so needs its own computer or lap top so managed to pick up this old lap top real cheap and seeing as its only got to run one programme should be fine,

    Only thing bit concerned about with this is that the programme is connected to piece of track that has trigger cars hit as they go through and if its anything like the lap counter can be bit tempramental as some guide blades are different so sometimes completley misses, however on another blog guy came up with fantastic solution which was cars pass over an l.e.d in the track, and as my brother in law is bit of an electronics wizard hope fully will be able to come up with something.
